| FYI is a non-profit organization
whose purpose is to develop and implement prevention,
intervention, and treatment services to children and their
families in a responsive, coordinated, timely, and equitable
manner. We pursue these goals through a variety of
programs and services offered to the southern New Mexico
community. |

| Our History |
| FYI was founded on April 1, 1977 as
a pilot project, Children in Need of Supervision. It
became incorporated as CHINS, Inc. on October 1, 1979.
The agency changed its name from CHINS, Inc. to Families and
Youth, Inc. on October 19, 1988. José V. Frietze has
served as the director from the agency's inception to the
present. |
